The Portuguese Army – An Ilustrated Memoir Pedro Soares Branco
Between 1806 and 1926, the Portuguese Army was involved in a vertiginous chain of events: the Peninsular War, the civil wars, Regeneration, the end of Monarchy, the Great War and the agony of the First Republic. The iconography of these events, scarce during the first half of the 20th century, exploded with the development of graphic arts and the advent of photography, creating images of great interest and beauty, produced through several techniques and on various material supports. Some of those images, a recollection of a fascinating historical period, can be found in this book.
